About this competition
The Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot, organised by the International Institute of Space Law, is the world's foremost moot on the law of outer space, named after the ICJ judge who chaired the drafting of the Outer Space Treaty's foundational principles.
Problems involve disputes between states over satellites, space debris, launches, and commercial space activity, argued as if before the ICJ. Winners of the regional rounds — Asia-Pacific for Indian teams — meet at the world finals held during the International Astronautical Congress, where the final bench traditionally includes sitting ICJ judges.
