About this competition
The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition is the largest moot in the world, with participants from several hundred law schools in over 100 jurisdictions. It simulates a dispute between states before the International Court of Justice.
Teams first submit written memorials for both applicant and respondent, then argue through national qualifying rounds — India's national rounds are among the world's most competitive — for a place at the international rounds held each spring in Washington, D.C. The compromis is released in early autumn and typically spans four questions of contemporary public international law.
