Eligibility
Students in any year of a BCI-recognised three-year or five-year LL.B. Teams of two counsel (the client is provided); up to two teams per institution; 32 slots, first come first served. Fee Rs 2,000 per team for the online round, plus Rs 2,500 for teams that qualify for the offline round. Queries: legalaidclinic@kls.ac.in.
About this competition
The first edition of KIIT's client counselling competition, run by its Legal Services Clinic. Problems are everyday practice areas -- contracts, sale of goods, consumer protection, family law, torts, insurance, motor vehicles, cheque bounce and IT Act matters. Online preliminaries on 19 September; offline rounds and results on 27 September. Prizes: Rs 25,000 to the winners, Rs 15,000 to the runners-up, Rs 10,000 each for Best Counsel and Best Client.
